Teach Soap

1. has anyone here tried to make it, and do you have any tips?

I bought the book "Making Transparent Soap" by Catherine Failor. The recipes are really too large for a test batch to see if this is something I want to try on a larger scale. Which brings me to my next question.

2. So I can scale down the recipe will a standard lye calculator work for this type of soap? or should I be following the math in the book?

Then there are the concerns...she shows in the book that you can use food coloring or your favorite perfume, which I wont do of course, but why would that be a viable option?

That book needs to be seriously updated. I would go look at Kathy Miller soap online. She has tips and recipes there to make transparent soaps that you can make in smaller quantities.
