I've read through the FDA's cosmetic labeling claims regulations and am being very careful about what I put on my products and what I say about them. However, when I study claims made by popular products at the grocery store, I'm constantly confused as to how they get away with making certain claims and using certain buzz words that make the product a drug. And I see popular companies doing this all the time.
For instance, the popular Mrs. Meyer's soap line clearly states on their packing and website that their scents are aromatherapeutic. They use essential oils in their soap, but the FDA's website specifically says that a product with essential oils cannot claim any therapeutic benefits as it makes said product a drug.
