Everyone's soaps look great, I haven't posted in quite a while, this last week/week and a half has been very busy and stressful.

Heather, great looking soaps! For awhile it seemed all I made was green soap... now I am into blue for the summer. Will fall starting to be considered I will probably focus on orange. Looking forward to the cut bars.

The dragon's blood gelled, those little bamboo boxes are good insulators! The orange soda did not gel, even though it was toasty and warm, and insulated. Even a couple hours later it was still warm! No gel though, still squishy! :|

Lovely soaps Heather. Can't wait to see them cut.
Love those colors.
Thanks Susie for the champagne suggestion. Can't wait to try that one.

The photo is dark, but here's what I worked on tonight, trying out this new 4 mini loaf silicone mold. It was fun getting to make 4 different soaps with 4 different designs, but stressful too haha. I had to move so fast!! Hopefully if these all turn out and clean up nice, I will be sending them in pairs in a Fall-themed soap swap with a facebook group. Two of these will discolor, in fact the Acorn Harvest already turned a light caramel.

Top: BB's Cranberry Fig, NG's Acorn Harvest
Bottom: NG's Pumpkin Apple Butter and Fresh Fallen Leaves

p.s. the photo sucks, I am too tired to play photographer now lol.

Those look nice!!! Does that mold bulge much? When Kim (NGs tester) uses them they seem to bulge a lot, but her batter seems super thick and heavy! My acorn harvest is pretty much black now. I need to actually remember to snap a picture.

Though with the speed of the box delivery it may be ready so I can just send you a bar LOL

Haha, crazy boxes!

I put the mold into a cardboard box first, and rolled up some kitchen towels on the edges for insulating, so hopefully that will keep them from bulging too much.

Laura, those look too tasty to be soap.

So getting adventurous now, and using what I got from BB my boyfriend and I made this soap based off of his character, I'll post pictures of both for comparison.
Image

Here is his character for comparison.

Image

The base was 20% Coconut, 3% Castor, and 77% Olive with a 7% superfat. The top layer is Azure Blue lab color from BB, and Clove EO. The middle layer is Iron Oxide and Chai from BB with a hint of Vanilla Vanilla from BB. Out of the bottle those two smelled like Brown Tootsie Pop and Coppertone Suntan Lotion respectively but smell MUCH nicer and more mellow after gelling in the soap. The bottom layer is Titanium Dioxide from BB and Cinnamon EO.

Cute dragon! The colors fit him well, fragrance combos sound great too! Did you do a hanger swirl?

Keep us posted on how the black layer ends up with those discoloring FOs. I've been wanting to try a black soap for Pink Sugar but wasn't sure if it might get a weird effect during cure from the vanillin.

Also, I noticed that Emily (Shieh Design) just soaped a Pink Sugar that is supposedly non-discoloring....

Laura - your soap looks great, I love all the different tops! I bet they smell so good! Does that mold make 1-pound loaves? Looks like a great size for testing too.

Apothacer - Love the swirl, and that's a beautiful blue on the top of the soap!

Yes, ~1lb per cavity with fluffy tops. It was a lot of fun to test fragrances and colors/designs like that. I just made two 2lb batches and split them in half after trace. Only problem is having to either stick blend a lot or wait a while to be able to pile on the tops without making a mess on the neighboring soaps. :? I am saving so much on supplies this way too for fragrance testing, plus saving room on the curing shelf. I think just making whatever I want in colors and fragrances I like at the moment to be my soaping style anyway, so definitely a good investment for me haha!

Apo, fantastic dragon soap! The colors are great, and the fragrance sounds interesting. :)
