So...I've soaked, blended and strained my oats to get oat milk. I would like to use it in some soap, is there anything I should watch for? I was going to try using it for 100% of my liquid and was going to use it slushy, would that be pushing it?

I would go half water to dissolve your lye, then add the rest as oat milk. You should not have problems mixing it this way.

Thank you both for your help! I really had my heart set on a 100% oat milk soap, but I've read of too many disasters using 100% oat milk. I'll be cautious and use half water and half oat milk and see how that goes!

I've never used an oat milk soap, so I can't wait to try it! It's finished and trying to gel. Your approach worked really well, Irena, thanks again!

It ended up gelling all the way through without insulation, so it heats up pretty good.

Carrie, I'll try to remember to update this post once it's had a sufficient cure!

Soapcakes and Methree, did you add the oat milk to the oils or to your cooled off lye or to the lye water once the lye was dissolved?
