Teach Soap

I'm using a sample pack of EO's from BB and was wondering how I can get my soap's scent to have a bit of staying power on my hands after I wash them. I don't want anything crazy, but it would be nice to smell a hint of EO 5 minutes (or so) after washing my hands.

Because soap is a wash off product, you'd need to use the highest safe amount of scent for it to stay on your skin for any length of time. You could make a lotion bar with the scent and that would last longer.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Maybe because it is a scent anchor, but I make a scent blend with patch that seems to linger quite a bit. Of course it's also really strong!

How much of the EO are you using to how much product? Citrus is known to fade. Adding a base note like Litsea, Vetiver or Patchouli helps.

I did a patchouli and peppermint bar, 1oz patchouli (it is an FO) and 1/4oz peppermint 1st distillation EO. The peppermint stays on my skin for hours after bathing. That is a 1.35 pounds of oil batch.

I used Lemongrass and used a little bit over 1tsp for a 1lb batch. I was really nervous when I was adding the EO because it was so strong, I didn't want it to overpower the soap too much. Now that the batch is made, I can definitely smell the Lemongrass the minute I get the soap wet I just didn't know if I was doing something wrong because the scent doesn't linger on my hands.
