I purchased some conditioner from Elements to make for my children, and can't find a shampoo base to match the fact that it has no parabens, is there such a thing as a shampoo base to use for children? I am trying to buy one that doesn't contain the no-no's that it seems like all the other ones contain, parabens, sulfates, etc.

Try Essential Wholesale.

Thanks soapbuddy, I did see that, I was just hoping that I could find some that was a little bit cheaper than $9.00 per lb! Just trying to try to cut costs somehow without cutting the quality of the product!

Sulphate-free surfactants cost anywhere from $6 to $10 a kilo and that's from a distributor not a retailer, so it's not surprising you're finding high prices. I don't know why anyone would use parabens in a shampoo, simpler preservatives such as sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate work very well.

Eventually I may have to give in and create the shampoo from scratch instead of buying a base. Purchasing the base saves time and gives the instant gratification factor, but if I am going to be in this all the way.......
