Yeah, I'd read that about bentonite and was afraid the kaolin would do the same. So far so good, though I didn't use a ton, about 1/2 tsp ppo.

Carrie, I did see the shaving forums referenced a lot in those threads, seems that there is some advice to be had there too, so it might be a good place to look. I've done MP shaving soaps in mugs as gifts, but no one ever seemed really excited about it. Guess there just aren't any old-fashioned shavers in my circle. :(

I think bentonite is a little bit softer than kaolin, and also more absorptive. Both work for the "slip" though.
