I apologize if this has been posted before (I tried looking it up first, but couldn't find it), but what is everyone's favorite colorants to use for both MP and CP soaps? So far I've only used Micas in both MP & CP and I definitely liked it better with MP when I mixed it with some rubbing alcohol (although I do think it made my soap smell like alcohol). So which types of colorants do you prefer for which style of soap making and if you can, explain why. Thanks!!!!

I like all my colorants, for different reasons with each.

I like oxides & ultramarines for both because, unlike many micas, they usually don't morph in cp.

I use both micas and pigments (oxides and ultramarines). I mix either with a little bit of glycerin and then use them (in either CP or MP). I even mix all of the types together for new colour creations! :mrgreen:

Oh that's a neat idea! When I used mica in my first (and only) batch of CP the color was pretty much nonexistent. I thought I had used enough but maybe not. Also, how much glycerin do you use? Does it matter what kind of glycerin is used?

I use around 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin.
