Has anyone gotten their bees wax straight from a Bee Keeper?

I have a friend who is a bee keeper and sells honey on the side. I mentioned that I had purchased bees wax from a soap supply store to try to use it in cold process soap. He sent me a bag of raw bees wax. It smells amazing!!! , but also a little scary looking since it still has some rough honey attached to it, and it's big chunks of wax. Can I use it? How do I begin to clean it off? should I just chop it down in small chunks? Do I store it in the refrigerator?

I've never done anything like this myself, but I know we have at least one beekeeper regular poster here on the forums. I googled "how to filter raw beeswax" and got a ton of results that all looked useful.
