I have been wanting to try MP and I was wondering why is it I hear that MP is not considered natural? I have seen the glycerin melt and pour bags at the hobby lobby is that the same as everyone here on this board use.

CP is technically not "natural" either, as lye is made in a laboratory. There is no real definition for "natural", rather each person has to decide their own. A lot of MP has additives like SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) to improve lather, and some have detergents, or humectants.

Natural in my opinion is a marketing term since it has no real definition in the B & B world.

Now deteregent or surfactant free, that would be a better way to label mp bases that are similar to cp soap.

I don't think that many of the people on the forum use craft store mp bases. They're usually more expensive than what you can get online and have detergents and surfactants in it, which can be irritating to some people's skin.

Not to sound biased, but I've tried several different MP bases (not NG's however), and BB's is hands down the best of all I have tried. It's such a noticeable difference.
