Teach Soap

Just received my order from BB yesterday which contained shea and mango butter among other items. Fed Ex had left the box sitting out on our grill in the 100+ degree heat....needless to say the butters started to melt and soak the bottom of the box. I want/need to remove them from the plastic bags they arrived in but not sure if I should just put them in zip lock bags, plastic storage containers, mason/glass jars? How do you normally store your butters? Thanks!

I leave them in their plastic bags to help keep air out (can keep tightening them down around the butters), but I've never had them show up partially melted. Sorry that happened!

I was disappointed. I left the garage door standing wide open thinking that if Fed EX arrived when I was gone, they would put it inside the garage door at least. No such luck. Next time I will place a big note on the door - or just tell the hubby I can't leave the house the entire delivery day!

I may just switch them into other baggies. The outside of the ones they are in now are just slimy!

Good idea because the slime on the outside would probably go rancid. Yuck! Can you save most of it? *crosses fingers*

Do think they will go rancid now since the heated up so much in the sun? Do I need to store them in the fridge?

I keep all my butters in the refri at 4C.

I moved my BB butters to ziplock baggies. I find the bags they come in are way too messy! I have some from WSP that came in an ice-cream like container too, another good idea! Plastic containers or bladder bags would be way nicer than BBs current packaging. *hint hint nudge nudge*

My butters are in buckets in the soaping fridge.

I put them in 2.5 qt buckets I get at Home Depot and store them in the refrigerator.

Soaping fridge...not a bad idea! I could just see some of the teenage boys that come home with my son opening something and trying it!
