I have tried the baggie method, double boiler and oven method. The oven method i did from the tip on the BB site to add 1 cup milk pp and let sit over night then stir and "bake" on 200 for 1 1/2 hrs and it would be "nicely liquid" ( it wasnt by the way maybe because i used soy milk? ) It seems like the baggie method gets it the most mushy which I like but I hate throwing the soap thats stuck to the bag away. Any way to get baggie mushiness by doing the oven or DB method? I like the oven best i guess since I can scrape almost all of it out with my hand and not have so much "waste". Whats your favorite way?

The oven method has worked the best for me. Did you run through it with a stick blender a couple of times? Usually after the first 60-90 minutes and then after the next 30 -60 minutes. After that I pour. That is what has seemed to make a difference for me. But again do not believe that this soap will ever be as fluid as your freshly made CP soap batter is.

I'm a fan of the double boiler method with a bit of milk for smoothness.

I usually just nuke mine in the microwave and don't add any liquid unless I need it.

How long you cook will depend somewhat on your soap. Mine will take over an hour to do the inital melt... thats when I will stick blend to help break up some of the chunks (now since then I have gotten an electric grater but have not rebatched with this yet). If you are going to add additional liquid... milk, water, aloe, oil then I may give it another 1/2 hour, but I watch it and have taken it out of the oven 15 minutes later, stick blend again and will pour depending on how smooth it looks. I have never added additional milk as I ususally have milk in there to start with, I have used grapeseed oil (tolerates a high heat) and aloe. I also make sure I tap, tap, tap my molds to get out airbubbles. And I usually use individual molds... not sure why, I just have. The time can depend alot on how old your soap scraps are. Once I had saved soap scraps for over 9 months and rebatched them... it took 2 hours to get even partial melt on those dry scraps. That is when it would have been good to presoak them in milk or water for a few days!

I just re-batched 2.5Kg of a failed CP (riced) batch and because it was so fresh the rebatch was quite easy. I added double cream, not too much. About two hours in the oven at 120C in a stainless container. The result was fine.

Thanks for the stick blending tip. tried it today and it worked great. I know that you will not be able to do the pretty swirls like in CP in rebatch but stick blending made this quite spreadable. Have you ever tried a crude in the pot swirl with this maybe?

I have not as most of the time I am reblending a couple of colors already and end up with brown.

You could try it. The worst that could happen is that you end up with colored layers instead of swirls. 8)
