Another idea I'm ready to try, but looking for feedback regarding potential problems I haven't thought of yet......
I've been wanting to try 100-percent coconut soap with 20-percent superfat. And then there's this cucumber sitting on my counter that hasn't gone bad, but has lost its crispness. So I blended it up to liquid and it's now in my fridge.
I'm planning on supplementing the cucumber liquid with the necessary water for the recipe and doing the full coconut oil soap.
Anyone see any problems to warn me about????

I would be concerned with the sugar in the cucumber liquid. It may cause the soap to over heat. I would also think if the liquid is not completely clear but still has chunks of cucumber in it then it may turn the bits brown. I don't know though so don't take my word for it. Just my thoughts. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

You can use cucumber juice in place of water! I'd strain the bits out, but you can also use cucumber puree so it isn't necessary to strain. Might look a little flecky if you leave bits in.

I would strain the cucumber so it's just juice since you are doing a 20% superfat.

Had a change of plans. Mixed my cucumber juice with the lye and got an ugly brown liquid, so poured that out and started over.
Went with distilled water, no color, 100% coconut oil (20% superfat) and Ylang Ylang eo.
It got nice and hard by this afternoon, but is pretty oily all around the outside of it. Is this normal for coconut soap at this high of a superfat? I'm pretty sure I got a false trace at the beginning, but kept at it with the stick blender and am fairly certain I reached a medium trace before pouring into the mold. Covered it and it did gel.
I cut the end off and used it----nice lather!! But what to do about the oil---anything?

The next time I do one I might try lowering the sf to maybe 17% to see I can see a difference.

I have made 100% CO salt bars with cucumber juice and coconut milk. 15% SF to account for the fat in the coconut milk. The soap turned out a light greenish yellow.. It was very nice soap.

I pureed a cucumber... did not use the vitamix, just a mini chopper. For a total of 8.7 oz of liquid I used 5.7oz distilled water and 3 oz of purree. I did get some speckles in my soap but this is what I wanted. The 3 oz total of cucumber was because that is what my cucumber gave me. If I did not want the speckles I would peel my cucumber before putting it in the vitamix. Cukes contain alot of liquid. We are growing some lemon (yellow) cukes this year. One of them will end up in a batch of soap!
