I didn't make any changes to the recipes...am not that far along yet to even think about that. I looked at the lye calculator, but that is still confusing to me too. I just made them by the exact recipes.

The second recipe where you subbed pomace for regular olive changed a bit when putting it in a lye calc. I did both in the BB lye calc with 5% superfat.

With plain olive:
4.4 oz lye
9.9 oz liquid

With pomace olive:
4.2 oz lye
9.9 oz liquid

Well now see....I had no idea i was substituting the oils....at that time...I didn't realize there were differences, and the friend who gave me the recipe didn't specify. I thought olive oil was olive oil.

They're just sitting around like giant globs of oatmeal. They do lather fine....just gooey. They'll be fine for soft soap.
