 Post subject: Hot Processed Rose Soap

I made this soap yesterday, but after I made it I thought it might be nice to add some white chocolate to the soap the next time I make it, has anyone added melted chocolate to soap and if so, how did you incorporate it?

I'm sorry the picture is so huge! I tried resizing it but it hasn't gotten any smaller, how could I fix it?

Soapcakes, your roses are beautiful! I would never guess they are hot-process soaps which usually look "rustic." I'm not sure about your chocolate question but my guess would be at emulsification or trace, as hot lye might cause the chocolate to seize? Are you going to temper your chocolate first?

Thanks everyone! Linda, I wasn't going to temper the chocolate, just melt it...do you think I should temper it? I think that's a good idea to add it at trace, I will try that.

You're welcome! I was wondering about putting them into the warm hot process soap too, but they held up just fine. If I'm embedding MP soap into the top of my hot process soap though, I do freeze them first just to be on the safe side.
