Teach Soap

How big are the average bars these days? My husband is going to make me a few more molds and wondered if the first one was an ok size. My testers all say the soap is really nice but its big, bigger than commercial anyway! My bars coming from my first homemade mold at 3x3, could make them a little taller but I don't mind the size and if I made them more narrow it may be hard to put the details inside the mold. Each of my bars is about 4-4.5 oz...still have to master cutting them all the exact size

Comments/suggestions please!

I think most people cut theirs to be at about 3-3.5" wide, 2-3" tall & about 1-1.5" thick. 4-5 oz is the normal weight that I see. So, I think yours sound like a pretty good size.

fosterfields, my husband made my mold and its measurements are 12Lx3.5Wx3.5H I have cut the bars 3/4" thick to make a 4-4.5oz bar. They seem big

I did however just try an experiment and made flat top bar and cut them 2x1.75x3.5, size wise they seem ok, but weight is smaller. I think I'll keep them bigger.
