Teach Soap

I'm putting together a NG order with Rockin the Stars, and I had looked at Yeah for Yummy when someone told me NG had a dupe called "Yummy." I figured it's the one they meant, but I saw nothing about it in the desc or reviews on NG, and it wasn't on their list of dupes. So I wasn't sure. I will check it out though, probably swap it for one of the other FOs on my order that I'm not completely convinced I want. By the way, the Honey Vanilla Love Dust I mentioned earlier in this thread is a LUSH dupe, for one of their massage bars.

I do love me some LUSH though. Their Curly Wurly shampoo with creamed coconut is my absolute favorite, as I have naturally extremely curly hair. Just wish it wasn't $25 a jar haha. Can only justify treating myself to a jar every once in a while. Goat's milk soap the rest of the time, hehe. Oh, and their T for Toes powder. Love love love. Siiiiigh, LUSH why you so 'spensive?!

I do find NG's reviews to be unreliable many times though. I think people shower a lot of empty praise on some of those FOs just to get their points up sometimes. And I have found many of their FOs are missing test results too.

Please do not use glass to mix your oils and lye water in! I noticed some of the videos use glass cups.

I knew glass was a no-no for lye mixtures (I use a tall silicone measuring cup), but I use a thick glass batter bowl for mixing oils and lye water together. Is this a no-no too?

Glass is just so much easier to wash up than plastic afterwards, and I saw A-M uses the same container as me in her videos....

Irena , I just had to reach out to you and say THANK YOU! You and many others here on the forum are definitely an asset to the soaping community!

I've been testing my first batches of soap I made on my own, and I LOVE they way they feel in the shower! (i'm a B&B snob too..lol)

Even though I only used 1oz of Sweet Almond Oil, I can really tell the difference, compared to soaps without it!

My soaps cured up nice and hard, and IMO, are mild. (compared to M&P, even)

Thanks for helping me with my recipe, I think i've found a keeper!

I also really like the 80% OO, 20% CO, and 5% Castor.. the lather is REALLY nice! (as long as I use 99% Purity Lye or Sodium lactate, I shouldn't have any problems with unmolding in 24-48 hours)

It's crazy how much soap shrinks as it cures! (I cut my bars pretty thick and I can still tell a BIG difference in size)
