So, I found a canolive soap recipe on another site and started making test batches with it since it was a cheep base and I wanted to see what scents would come through. After making the fourth batch this way, the first batch has come down with a case of the DOS. My recipe used 41% olive, 41% canola (Ouch), and 18% coconut with a 5% lye discount. Since the rest of these bars are canola heavy, would it be possible to preemptively re-batch them with vitamin E oil and hope the Dreaded Orange Spots don't show up? This is just for personal use, not to sell, but it will take me a heck of a long time to get through all this soap by myself.
If this isn't a viable option, could someone suggest one and or, give me some great alternative uses for this doomed soap other than polka-doted building blocks?
