Be careful with sugar scrubs (or any scrub with sharp granules) on your face. The skin on our faces is quite delicate and very thin in some places and the sugar granules can cause micro-tears which leaves your skin open to major irritation and possible infection.

While i find essential oils lovely when it comes to breakouts i go to the store and purchase something with 2% salycilic acid as the active ingredient. It's effective and inexpensive, used in moderation it does not dry out my skin. If your acne is because of a medication or something internal this may help but then again nothing may help because the acne is a bi-product of something going on inside you (sorry).

Something else that is inexpensive is sulphur. I was able to find it in powder form at a pharmacy. It is an old school remedy for skin problems, it can be added to masks, facial cremes etc, look it up for information on it and how to use it.

Other things that help battle acne. Always sanitize your make-up brushes or better yet use disposable applicators and NEVER double dip into your make-up, it's a bacteria breeding ground and it ends up back on your clean face. Throw make-up away that is past it's exp date, it's generally marked on the container. I know it's hard to do because it can be like throwing money away, but your skin will thank you!

Good luck, as an adult acne sufferer i feel for you on this issue.
