I always go by weight rather than fl oz. For 1# batches or less, I use grams for greater accuracy, but most of the time I use ounces.

Weight everything with your scale, including your water. Don't use fluid ozs. If the batch is small, convert it to grams. Round up the 3rd # after the decimal point UP for your oils and DOWN for your lye.

Ok, So I just made another batch.. This time with the water being weighed with the lb/oz measurement apposed to the FL OZ measurement. (my first batch)

This is the best way I'll be able to tell if I added too much water or not.
