Beeswax is great for lip balms as it doesn't soak into the skin. However, I need to make a formulation that completely absorbs into the skin fairly quickly. At the moment I've been trying Candilla Wax, but it's producing a very hard end product with next to no glide - even at 40 - 50% the amount normally reserved for beeswax.

Would Macadamia Wax Beads be a better option? Or is there another way to harden the mixture other than the Cocoa Butter which I am already including...

"hard" and "absorb quickly" are opposites. To get a fast-absorbing cream use appropriate carrier oils. Squalene, almond oil, capric/caprylic triglycerides, these work well. Wax is not appropriate. Thicken with stearic acid, cetyl alcohol. Emulsify with glycerol monostearate.

If you are subbing for beeswax, you will need only half as much candelila wax.

Try adding more liquid oils and some corn starch for that powdery feel.
