Sorry, wasn't quite sure how to title this topic. I made some HP soap paste for liquid soap. All came out good, the PH was at 8. I only made a very small test size batch. So, now, I begin the dilution phase. BTW... I am using a slow cooker to do all of this. All is going well. It's diluting well. During one of the checks, I take the temperature. Its about 178, so instead of putting the top back on properly, I basically "crack" it so it can cool down some to get it into the lower 160 range (as per AM liquid soap video). When I go back to check it again in about 15 minutes, there is a glycerin looking skin on top. I gently with a silicone spatula, gather it up and put it in a cup. It definately looks like the glycerine paste. Did I do something wrong? Can I re-dilute this? The rest looks fine. I am letting it cool down, and tomorrow will thicken/scent it.

Any advice? I am very confused about this. Thanks in advance!

I will do that. It's not much, so it will be tricky coming up with the proper water amount. I may just do 1-1 to see how it works. As for the rest, it came out awesome. It has a dark brown color because of the aloe vera juice & green tea water I added, but suds up nicely, thickened up nicely, and the sample fragrance I got from my last BB order is great! I have "ordered" my husband to take a shower, as I want him to try my shampoo. That is what I was making. I have already given my postman (another one of my test dummies.. lol) some samples of it too. Anytime I come up with a new recipe for anything, its all samples so I can get feedback. My nieces in TX are now asking for more samples... so... XXXX, here's hoping!

So happy it worked out!! I love that AM liquid soap receipt and use it as dog shampoo and I am sold out all the time.
