I use a shelving unit (its about 7 ft long) that my son left in his room when he joined the Army. It has wood shelves so I put a piece of cardboard down on the shelves to keep the air circulating under it. I just dont have any room for a wire rack. When I get my dedicated soaping space set up, I plan on getting one.

I have plastic coated metal racks from a restaurant supply store for the soaps that are curing. It has four large shelves. I also have four aluminum bakers racks that have wooden inserts. Those have about 10 shelves each.

I have an 18 shelf shoe rack that sits in my laundry. Each shelf is just high enough for the soap, and it's only 20cm deep, so doesn't take up a lot of room.

Great ideas, mine is a pretty small wire rack as I don't make too many batches yet:)

What do you do with the soap once its cured? To wrap or not, string and label???

I cure for 2 months and then move to shoe boxes with printer paper between layers (cuz it's cheaper than parchment or freezer papers). Not very professional I guess, but it's cheap & it seems to work! :)

Right now I have it all on a shelf with paper towel under it. My workshop will have a bunch of coated wire racks though! And once it's cured I put it in plastic shoe boxes that I picked up for under a dollar each at Home Depot. These also make good beginner molds *wink* that's what the first one was originally for.

Hello everybody, It is nice to see all the reply it is nice to see how you all store soaps as I am trying to get everything ready befor we start to make soaps I have thought about making a drawer system with spacing of about 6 inches apart. I also have some plastic coated wire shelving that a freing gave me that I could cit to size also. but I am leaning more towards the draw system as it would take less space (for curing) and maybe the shelving to put the cured soap on inside of shoe boxes.

I buy dishwasher racks from the restaurant supply store. They're cheap, they stack, theyre made for airflow, and each one holds about 10 lbs of soap.
