Hi all, I would like to put a sparkle effect on the top of my soap. I ordered Pearl Mica, Pigment dark blue pearl and pigment copper sparkle. Do I just sprinkle one of them on the top of the soap when I have poured it into the mould? I have also spotted pictures of cold process soap pebbles on a website that looked just like pebbles. I live by the sea and thought I might try to make them but cannot find anywhere to give me tips. Therefore I am going to mix different coloured batches and then mould into pebble shapes when practically set. Any comments or tips would be appreciated. Thanks all :D

As for glitter/mica, I was given the advice here on the forums to use a makeup brush and tap it onto the tops of the soaps, and this works very well for me.

Do you mean soap pebbles like this? I have wondered about those myself, if so. Thought maybe using a squirt bottle onto freezer paper. Anyone else know?

A-M did a Soap Queen blog post a few months ago making realistic looking rocks. If you want natural looking pebbles, that might be a starting point. Check the CP part of the blog, maybe search for "rocks" or "pebbles."

I don't know about micas...

Gladly, could the ones in your pic maybe be jojoba beads? I know they come colored, but have never seen them outside of the pic on BB.

Pretty sure those are soap not jojoba beads. I'll get around to trying out my tiny squirts onto freezer paper one of these days, I'll let you know if I have any luck!

I think those are mp. You can drop it into ice cold water to make little balls like that.

Oh, what a neat trick! Sounds much easier than what I was thinking. I'll have to give this a try!

They look like M&P to me as well. I never heard about the dropping into ice water before... tell me more. And I have to say whom ever did that soap has a great talent for confetti.

I've never tried it, it's in a book I got years ago. They dropped it off a spoon near the surface of the water and it made little balls like that.
