Could anyone tell me which alcohol people use to make their soap shiny and can I buy it in the UK/is it leagl to use in UK as we have to follow EU cosmetic law? Thanks all :P

91% isopropyl alcohol. I buy it in the pharmacy section at our local Walmart. No idea how it falls into UK/EU laws.

I use a 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Also not sure about Europe.

Does it matter if alcohol concentration is 97%,or 70%,for instance?

Well,to be precise,it's 96%,not 97% . I just got one and now I don't know whether I'm supposed to add little of destilated water!?
And it is ethanol alcohol,not isopropyl.
What now,does it worth trying.
Yes,I want to prevent soda ash.

how does one make their soaps "shiney" with alcohol? I've never heard of this. Can someone please enlighten me. I do have the 97% stregnth, but I got it for my m/p.
