Teach Soap

I made GM CP soap two weeks ago and my soap is still soft. It holds the shape but is stil soft. What causes that?
I used frozen milk and I set my lye container in cold water and then slowly added the milk.. Did I let the lye mixture get too cold?

How soft? Cream cheese squishy soft? Or hard but you can still put a small dent in it with your finger?

Can I ask what your recipe is to see if it was something in there?

Soft to where you can make a dent in it. I do not have my recipe with me. I can post it later. But it was coconut oil, alittle castor oil, olive oil and another oil I will have to look.

this is the recipe I had and used.

Castor OIl 1 oz
coconut oil 9.6 oz
palm oil 6.4 oz
olive oil 14 oz
goats milk 17 oz
lye 4.4 oz
And I added about 1 tablespoon of mango butter just to use up what I had.

Could I have used too much olive oil?
When I cut the soap today the knife just went right though it and the center of the soap is about 2 times lighter than the outer part.
What did I do wrong

You need to calculate the mango butter into your recipe. You just can't add it as is. Teaspoons are not accurate for soapmaking.

That looks like a lot of goat's milk. Should have been closer to 12 ounces or less. Are you using a lye calculator for your recipes or pulling them from the web or books?

Yep, you have about 5oz too much liquid, and your lye is a little low if you added mango butter. I figured it to be ~1oz. With 1oz of mango butter you'd have needed 12oz liquid and 4.6oz lye. BB also has a nice lye calculator!
