So I want to make some soap cupcakes (as the title says LOL) I tried paper liners and that didn't work (I couldn't get them to peel off) so I picked up some silicone liners, and I was wondering if I should spray them with alcohol before I pour the soap in? Or will the silicone peel off? If I do try spraying them (to make sure they DO peel off) will it hurt the finished product at all? I'm thinking not because you use the alcohol between layers, but would like it if someone a bit more experienced with this could help me out! TIA!!

Spraying alcohol on the liners would more likely make them stick a little bit, not release better. MP should release from silicone just fine as long as you let them set and cool completely. You can spray a baking release spray on the liners if you are really woried about them sticking.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense, not exactly sure what I was thinking there! I recall reading somewhere about alcohol helping to realease from molds.

Thanks Genny. I was pretty sure they would just pop out, but I just wanted to double check.

Frist sorry to hijack this topic, with that said .. Can someone please tell how soap cakes are to look. When I frosted mine this morning I used A-M recipe for her website to make the bath whipped frosting. I had no trouble making it.. just made alot of it.. will cut down the recipe next time.. but mine are still soft like whip cream frosting. its about 80 degrees inside my house due to the heat wave hitting us now. I live in PA USA. It says it take 2 to 3 days to harden to be able to pack.. jus worried that I somehow screwed up the recipe. anyone thoughts or helpful advice? thank you. Melissa

PS the recipe I use goes ans followed...
1 Cup Foaming Bath Whip

1 Cup Clear Melt and Pour

1 Tablespoon Liquid Glycerin

3 Tablespoons Meringue Powder
'
and 4mL of vanilla ( I wanted to be brown so didnt use the stablizer for vanilla)

I research and the only thing I could find was a youtube video on whipped frost but that was a different recipe using liquid soap.
Any help would be greatly needed.

I made this recipe a couple times and it took a couple days to get to a smooshy sponge-like consistency. They never got harder than that. I ended up switching to cp soap for frosting instead.

You can get the tops to set firm, it's just a matter of playing with the ingredients involved.

There is a different recipe here that makes a firmer frosting. You can see her tap on it at the end of the video.
