Not sure what you mean by funny layers... but are you spraying alcohol between your layers to make them stick?

Unmolding - it's easier to push from the bottom than pull from the top. imagine it like a really fat syringe. Put your pointer fingers at the top of the mold, your thumbs at the bottom and squeeze / push the popsicle out. Remember to pull all the edges out a bit first to let air down and break the suction seal.

Not sure what sort of mold you currently have. I have one that is silicone. If you google for 'Soapsicle mold' I think you can find it. I've had mine for ages and can't remember where I got it from...

The Berry Chocolatey Soapsicles are an advanced soapsicle. It involves double pouring and trimming of the first pour to get them to work.

Best bet would be to sit the mold in something on an angle. If you have a bowl, box or something that will support the mold with the soap weight in it without tipping over, then angle the mold how ever you want the slant to be and pour in that way. The final top pour (what ends up being the bottom near the stick) is done with the mold standing straight.

If you look at the picture, that second pour of pink fills up almost to the top of the mold on one side. So they have stopped there, then stood the mold up when it was all set and poured the final portion of green in that way.

Someone suggested dipping the mold in warm water for a few seconds & the soapsicles will come right out. I have ruined molds trying to get them out.

I use a regular popsicle mold that I got at a dollar store. I find that spraying a little silicone mold release in helps a lot, and also popping the mold in the freezer for an hour or two. Both ways seem to work well. My hint for holding the mold at an angle while you pour is plasticine. Non-drying clay. You can stabilize the mold in it pretty well too, works great!

What are you doing with the attempts so far? Base is never really "ruined", just... altered. You could melt it down one more time and either try again (so you are using the same base to practice with, that avoids waisting), or you could pour them into normal soap shapes and use them yourself or give them away to friends.

If you are just wanting practice, just use the same base over and over. Re-melting soap base too much does make it unusable, BUT, if you are only concerned with practicing the lines and such, and not worried about actually using it, that won't matter. Saves wasting base over and over :)
