What is the standard size people make lotion bars? How long do they last? Looking to make some to resale

If you peruse Etsy, the normal lotion bar size ranges from 1-2 oz.

I like bars that are around 3 ounces. I find them easier to use than the smaller bars, but that's just my preference.

The thing that dictated our lotion bar size was the container we found to make them in. Can make them in muffin tins or in soap molds.
Also keep in mind how you will package them. We use a 2 oz tin and so we found a soap mold that met the dimensions of the 2 oz tin.

I was trying to find tins but I cant find any that are coated. I looked on several places that were said on here like papermart and specialtybottle but it doesnt say weather or not the are coated

I put lotion in a tin once (one from specialty bottle) and it was a bad idea b/c orange rust appeared under the rim...but no where else. Leads me to believe that the inside is coated but just not up under the edge where the metal was rolled under.
I use specialty bottle and have never had any problems with sugar scrubs or lotion bars in tins, but lotion bars don't have water so there should not be rust anyways.

I must say.... we are not starting out with the coolest summer... and the humidity\dew point is right there along with the temps this year! Hope you are staying cool. I was going to make soap today but my thermometer just hit 100 and I think it will wait until tomorrow.

We've had our air conditioning on for days, so our house is nice and dry. It's trying to keep the kids inside so they don't get heat stroke that's the problem. I so hate the humidity we've been having. I think we're a little cooler up here today than you guys in the southern part of the state.

WoW Linda, now I feel cool! We are currently down to 88 so I am going out to water my pots of flowers. Since we are having such a hot and humid summer I went and purchased a tropical plant today... a pitcher plant.... very unique for this area.
