Teach Soap

I have seen so many soaps that look so perfectly cut, how do you guys do that? Mine normally have little cut lines in them, and I use a soap cutter! Some I see almost looks like they have been wet to make them perfect and shiney on the surface!

Making sure that you don't cut too early or too late will help from getting cut lines. Years later and I'm still too anxious to cut and always get cut lines.
Some soapers spray there soaps with alcohol to get the "shiny" look

I got a $15 cheese cutter from amazon, and hot glued a piece of dowel to it to stop the soap from sliding around. Its only 1 bar at a time, but the cut is super straight! I suck at knife cutting

Oh, good idea with the dowel. I just got a cheese cutter today, I will have to try that!

I put a few layers of masking tape on my cheese slicer to gauge where my soap should sit. It's not hot glued dowel, but we can't all be that handy.

I really badly want a cheese cutter!!!

$15 from Amazon isn't too bad but add $50 for shipping & I just couldn't do it!

Can't find them anywhere in NZ (spent hours online looking!)

Really, really bad at knife cutting! But on the other hand, I excel at producing dozens of bars of decidedly individual sizes every time!

I'm tempted by the tank, but I have to say that I love the look of my crinkle cut bars, and a few other people have said that same. I wish there were a crinkle cutter out there!

I got mine on eBay Rochy. I think it ended up coming from the UK and cost me about $25 all up (Cutter + Postage).

I use a cheese cuttter most of the time, but I am with you Mellifera I love the crincle cutter. If you ever find one let us know.

What is so nice about a cheese cutter? I live in Ontario and my cheese cutter is a fancy knife Am I missing something good
