Does anyone have any thoughts about this soap? As its drying its changing, along the outside and between the layers is discoloured. Its been on my rack for about a week.

The kids are running amok so I can't run and look up other threads. What did you use to color? What was in your recipe? Did it gel? Is it zapping?

Looks like A) its getting ash and B) the colors are bleeding.

But I could be wrong because I've only used a colorant once and it was madder root at trace :lol:

Recipe was coconut, olive,palm and castor oils and cocoa butter. I also used oatmeal,milk and honey FO and oxides to colour black and white only on top layers, bottom layer is 'oh natural'.

I did make the mistake of unmolding this batch sooner than I should of...due to excitement :) It was still a little soft when I cut it!

Oatmeal, Milk and Honey usually discolors to a tan. That could be partially to blame at least.

If it doesn't zap, it's just discoloration and ash. That's only aesthetic.
