It's made from my olive, coconut and castor recipe, but it has shreds of all different soaps - some were made with lard, some have FOs, some have EOs, colorants range from oxides and ultramarines to lab colors. I know that *technically* I don't have to list anything, but... this is what I was thinking:
Ingredients: Olive Oil, Water, Coconut Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Shredded Soap, Castor Oil, Fragrance
Any ideas? Thanks! :P

As soon as you list ingredients, you must list them all. Shredded soap is not a legal ingredient if you are also listing the oils/butters that you used.

I agree with Soapbuddy, Shredded soap is no ingredient. You have to mention all ingredients over 0,1% (at least it's the case in Europe and I guess it's the same in the USA). So you have to mention all of the oils, colorants and POs or EOs.
I hate it but I have to do the same whenever I come to the brilliant idea of mixing rest soaps to a wonderful new one.

Oh well, I guess this will just be for family and friends because there's no way I can remember all of the shreds that went into it. :(

I don't usually have too many shreds because I don't bevel or trim my soap.
My sister is allergic to aloe, too, and she's had the same thing happen. I list everything, even if it's less than 1%.

My willy nilly soap balls have the same issue but since I do not sell I just make sure that who ever is gifted with these is aware that they may contain a little bit of everything. I usually ask if they have allergies and if the answer is yes then will choose another piece of soap for them.
I am curious Genny, what was her response to the fact that you had an allergic rx to something she did not list? If that had been me I would have changed my practice to begin listing it.... even if it is not a 'rule'.

If you look at the FDA site, nowhere does it says that you don't have to list ingredients that are under 1%.

Someone just sent me this link anonymously and said this is all about the 1% rule.
http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/CosmeticLa ... 4.htm#clgl

"Ingredients present at a concentration not exceeding 1% may be listed in any order after the listing of the ingredients present at more than 1% in descending order of predominance. [ยง 701.3(f)(2)]"

:? :?: I'm not seeing where it says they don't need to be listed. Anyone else?
