Teach Soap

Anyone know where to get some cute gloves like the ones that Anne Marie uses on Soap Queen TV. I have some short gloves but would really like something that covers my arms too.

Those gloves are cool but there is a MAJOR issue with them!!! The don't come in pink. This is unheard of!

I bought some similar gloves like that at Hobby Lobby from their 40% spring aisles! When I buy another pair though, I will go for a brand with sizes because I have pretty small hands and these hang off and get in the way of everything. Right now I am using gloves from my work (hospital).

I found some similar to those at Shopko last Christmas. They are nice to use in the summer as then I can get by with 3/4 length sleeves.

Sometimes A Mistake is so much fun, You just have to do it again!

I bought some--not as cute as those--with long cuffs, and found that the fingers were slick, in spite of the nubby things on the fingers. Wicked disappointing! I didn't like worrying about my grip on bowls as I worked, and went back to the boring yellow ones!

I use nitrile disposable gloves. They are grippy and thin enough that I don't feel like they are impeding my movement. They are also recyclable! All important factors!

Wow I never thought of just making myself longer gloves for the summer. The long sleeve shirts are starting to get pretty warm this time of year. Thanks for starting this thread. I will be making myself gloves long enough to soap with. My "summer soaping" style.

I wish I could find some longer gloves that allow for more precise handling because I really cannot wear long sleeves unless its the middle of winter. Bad bad soaper, I know, but I am very sensitive to heat so in warm weather I basically can't wear more than t-shirts and shorts (I do wear long thin cotton PJ pants when I soap and sneakers, but as soon as its in the mold, I change). I think its safer for me to chance a splash on my arm than risk heat stroke. However, I use nitrile gloves as well because they let me feel much more of what I'm doing. A box of 50 gloves have lasted me quite a bit and I still have about 10-12 pairs left. I can buy them in bulk so its easier for me.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Hehehe The last 3 batches of soap I made, the temps were starting to get up there ya know, AND I was on oral steroids for my back. I couldn't walk from the living room to the kitchen without breaking into a sweat. I would literally get my lye solution mixed out on the deck, come in and just grab paper towels to swipe down my face with. Sitting at the dining table to measure out my oils was horrible. Thank god for the stick blender because I would have just died trying to hand stir to trace on those batches
