Teach Soap

My wife decided to make soap. "I'll make the soap so you can concentrate on the shampoo."
Aha.
So with a certain amount of guidance from me, the first batch is made, more or less successfully, and then:
"I want to make it in round balls because such-and-such a customer wants it like that."
Me: - "You have to use a mould to do that. A silicone rubber mould."
"I'll try scooping it out with an ice cream spoon and shaping it."
Me: - "That won't work." (long explanation about crystalline nature of CP soap)
So of course she had to try it. I just about managed to keep my face straight when it all crumbled to pieces.

Some of us can only learn by doing...
I make soap balls, but I usually only do that right after the soap has saponified and is still soft and pliable.

I have made soap balls! I do like Linda does and just after unmolding\cutting, with a pair of gloves on, I will roll into a ball shape. Some are very smooth and some are rustic. If she does not like the rustic, let them sit for a few days and then smooth with clear clean water and allow to cure. I think you should be happy she wants to learn! Is she addicted yet?

With almost no help from me, she made a 21-bar batch yesterday using a column pour and it looks great!
