Teach Soap

Hubby gets lots of headaches and we're trying to find some natural relief options (instead of doping up on Tylenol and such). With my last BB purchase I ordered one of their roller bottles and was thinking of using a carrier oil with some peppermint and lavender e.o. in it to see if that helped him any. However, I have no idea how much e.o. to use. The bottle holds 6 ml by volume and .1 oz by weight (according to the BB website).
I thought of using Olive Oil as my carrier. Suggestions on how much e.o. to use, or a good (reputable) website that might help me calculate the correct amount?

I have had success using 100% peppermint oil, rubbed on the temples (being careful to keep well away from eyes), the ear lobes and at the base of the skull in that little divot. It really does work amazingly!! I havent tried a blend with lavender, but I would venture to say that you will want it to be mostly peppermint oil for its camphor effect, and your carrier oil should be super light, like grape seed, jojoba or sweet almond oil.

For 6 ml. I would use 1 drop of each. Olive oil is pretty greasy. I would use a lighter weight oil like almond, apricot kernel or jojoba.

Yes, after I typed my post I got to thinking that Olive probably is not my best bet. I do have Sweet Almond, Jojoba, and also Grape Seed oils on hand, so will pick one of those.
I did have hubby try the oils straight on the temples a few months back, but they were WAY too strong for him and he's been wary to try it again, so I thought I'd give this avenue a try.

My grandmother had migraines. She used to send the kids down to the creek to pick mint. I've used it for my migraines when I was pregnant, and Zomig was a no-no. I put a few drops of peppermint oil in my palms, rubbed, and cupped my hands over my nose and inhaled. I can't say it got rid of the headache, but it made it more bearable. (But give me my Zomig!)
