My temper gun I brought at BB went dead. and I dont have another 20 or 30 bucks to buy a new one this month.... My question is there a way to tell if M&P soap is the right temp to layer and such? can someone please point me in the direction or answer. I really want to make soap. Loved the layer look.

You can use a food grade or candy thermometer. I use a candy thermometer all the time just because it's cheap and accurate. I got mine at Walmart.

You can get a nice digital thermometer from Bed Bath and Beyond for $15 (after tax!). Its the one I use, its great!
