Morning,
I have made numerous batches of lavender soap over the past 4 months. However, the seem to have already lost their scent. It seems the scent should last longer than that. I added lavender EO at between .7 - 1.0 oz ppo so it should be more than enough. The EO came from New Directions Aromatics. The soap was not wrapped. Could that be the reason? Also I live in a very humid area (SE United States) although I didn't think humidity would impact the scent? I thought perhaps it was nose fatigue however my step-daughter couldn't smell them either and she's only here on weekends. It's a fairly basic recipe from SQ--

8.6 oz Coconut Oil
6.6 oz Palm Oil
13.2 oz Olive Oil
2.6 oz Shea Butter
2 oz Castor Oil
4.62 oz Sodium Hydroxide
10.9 oz Distilled Water

Any thoughts? How can I prevent this?

I have never used any products from New Directions, but I know the lavender eo I bought from a craft store sticks pretty well. When are you adding your EOs? Also, I have not used it yet (but do have it ordered), but supposedly Meadowfoam Oil helps to anchor fragrances in CP, for future reference.

I would try a different vendor. I make lavender soap and even though the scent is light, it does stick.

Try anchoring it with a bit of patchouli? Are you gelling your soap? If you suppress gel, more of the scent might be retained.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try a different vendor once I finish this bottle off (there's a good bit left). I'm not really a fan of patchouli but perhaps I can find another EO to anchor the scent.

If you don't care for Patchouli, try a small amount of Litsea or Vetiver. All these are "anchors".
