Teach Soap

Actually, an amazing day. Amazing day of failures (grin). And I can't really say I'm a beginner -- I've been soaping a lot since last November. So read and laugh with me.

I'm working on making soap-on-a-rope for my weaving guild sale. I've woven the rope and now having fun making soap that goes with the rope. Today I first did 4 trys on matching one rope. None matched, all ugly. (sigh) Lesson learned -- I need to study color mixing more (smile).

Finally, one that I think will be the color I want -- except when pouring it there was not enough soap! Lesson learned from this -- check the oz info on the cup before pouring. (duh!)

Then I'm happily pouring into a mold with color and deisgn I like. I'm pouring and pouring and pouring and then finally notice that it is flowing out of the mold and then notice that I didn't put the 2nd bottom rubber band on the mold. Lesson learned for this -- the molds need both rubber bands, that's why they come with two, so check before you pour. (Laughing out loud)

I finally figured out I was on a roll and need to quit before I ruin more efforts (laughing louder).

I think I'll take a nap now.
