I have a lot of essential oils I purchased for making my own cleaning supplies. They are Aura Cacia brand and Now Foods brand. I have lemon, eucalyptus, lime, peppermint, orange, cinnamon leaf, lavender, spearmint and grapefruit to name some of them. These are all essential oils, not fragrance oils. Are these essential oils acceptable to use in cold and hot process soap making? Where do you buy your essential oils at?

Yes you can except for orange which fades. They are fine if you are just starting out, but they are pricey this way. For better prices, I would go with BrambleBerry http://www.brambleberry.com/Essential-Oils-C157.aspx
Be careful with the cinnamon leaf. Use it in a small amount, otherwise it can be irritating to the skin.

I was thinking that the Bramble Berry essential oils were more expensive but I just did a comparison on Amazon.com where I bought mine for the cleaning supplies. Bramble Berry is a much better deal. Thanks for pointing that out.

I used the cinnamon leaf oil for a homemade toothpaste recipe. I didn't like the recipe so I have that oil leftover. I didn't think it would be a good soap additive but listed it with the other oils I have on hand.
