Bramble Berry ® | The Soaper's Cook Book
This is the book you must have.

I ordered The Soaper's Cookbook from Bramble Berry, The Everything Soapmaking Cookbook by Alicia Grosso and The Soapmaker's Companion by Susan Miller Cavitch. I also ordered some basic get started supplies from Bramble Berry including a scale, the temperature gun and a cold process starter kit. I found instructions online for building a wood soap mold. Hubby is a carpenter so he can do that for me so I don;t have to buy one. I'll search some thrift stores for a used crock pot, some stainless steel bowls and plastic ones too. Hopefully, it will all come together soon and I'll be on my way!

Believe me you will collect alot! I now have 4 shelves filled with stuff. I dream of having a basement where I can set up a soaping kitchen.

I dream of living on a few acres out in the country being able to devote 100% of my time to green living, writing, soap making, crafting whatever strikes my fancy. But I think that belongs on another type of forum doesn't it! But yes, I'm already trying to figure out where all this soap making paraphernalia is going to go!

I envy those of you that have a basement. No houses around here have a basement; possibly due to earthquakes.

No basements here either---the water table is too high. Wouldn't want one anyway--they creep me out. Seen way too many horror movies with scary things in the basements!

Hot process is a skill I learned early on so I could use it to save potentially failed batches. I have only completely lost one batch that overheated and separated to the point where it would not cook back together. The best tutorial I found for this was Soap Queen's Hot Process Hero.
