Teach Soap

How do you ship liquid? Specifically salt scrubs? When the post office asks if you have anything liquid, persihable, etc...what happens if you say yes? Do they not allow it? Also how do you pack it so it doesn't leak?
Just had a customer receive a box that had a note attached saying it was damaged...and inside the salt scrub had leaked. Definitely need to find a better way to seal them. Please help!! I have more orders to fill this week and I am nervous to ship out the salt scrubs now!!

I use safety seals on mine. Since mine are emulsified scrubs, the oils and salt (or sugar) do not separate.

BB & WSP put electrical tape around the lids of their bottles when they ship them to prevent them from loosening. Could you do something like that?

I was thinking of something like the electrical tape but not crazy about the aesthetic of that.

Thank you so much Irena - just ordered those seals. Was trying for minimal packaging but i think that is a must to prevent leaks. Until they arrive I will use electrical tape (i found white tape) and small sealed bags. Fingers crossed for no more leaks!!

I use those safety seals as well for my sugar scrubs. They work great! I have not shipped any yet (trying to find cheap very small boxes first) but I have stored them upside down and sideways just to try to make it leak and it has not so far =).
When putting it on you have to make sure you line it up right then press down firmly and seal it around the rim of your jar. Won't work if there is any liquid on the rim so be careful when pouring the scrub in. They have a pressure sensitive glue on them, really neat.
