Wow! Garden ready to plant? Mine is covered with snow. We do not plant until the middle to end of May. I will be starting my gourd plants indoors - esp the loofa ones - this month. They do better if I can give them a head start.

Perhaps the person who posted this method on the FB page is using the dehydrator as heat rather than dehydration? Could this be a version of the CPOP method (which I have read about in Anne Watson's book, which suggests warming the CP soap after pouring in the mold at the lowest temp. possible in the oven). My dehydrator starts at 95 degrees, so perhaps this could work to cut curing time?

I haven't used this method yet and yes, my dehydrator goes up to 170. If nothing else, I suppose this would guarantee a good gel phase?

Ive been reading up on CP for a few years now, even though I only made my first batch a few weeks ago now. But for a new eager soaper ready to jump in and get started, these kind of short cuts and easy fixes are very tempting. I have read up on this forum, another forum and tonnes of other information websites and pretty much if there is a statment made from one person and no else has made a similar stament then i tend to think maybe thats not quite right.
Saying that, I'm happy to experiment and find things out for myself, as i find it the best way to learn - hands on.

You are soooo right Coolah.... how is a new soap maker to know? I still count my blessings that my 'teacher' told me to find a soap making forum where they will give guidance and I stummbled right here! (she told me that because she did not have the answer to my first batch question). I truely appreciated her honesty.
