Teach Soap

It would appear that all the fragrances I love, have Vanillin Content. There is the obvious Vanilla colour stabilizer option, but if one doesn't have any of that, are there any other ways to help stop a Vanillin Content Fragrance going so brown?

How does it work when I use it in say, pink coloured soap? Will it stay pink? Or will the pink go a brownish colour as well? The one I was hoping to do some little girls pink butterflies with is [Pink Sugar] by NG. 8.2% Vanillin Content

My Pink Sugar FO soap discolored to very dark brown. You could use some TD, but then your soap will turn to light brown. Pink will turn brown too.

I used a Vanilla Blossom FO that smells so nice and delicate. I wanted to use some ultramarine pink for color, but I knew that the FO would discolor to medium brown. So, now I have brown roses that smell great!

Also, I saw in a forum where they tested vanilla stabilizers and with all the ones they'd tested, eventually the soaps still turned brownish.

Two questions: 1) I thought vanilla stabilizer only worked in M&P, not CP. For CP it was advised to use non-discoloring vanilla, which will eventually go tan anyways.
2) I had heard that pink sugar does not stick in CP? I have done a M&P swirl with it in my CP just because I like the scent.

Well, guess I have been working tooo many hours.... I thought I was in the CP thread.... sorry Coolah.

And Dave - did you photo shop those roses or actually grow brown? My mother grew a purple rose, but I think it died out last year.

There are vanilla stabilizers specific for CP and for MP soaps. I find over time either way they still turn brown. It just takes a little longer.

Checked with Mom this morning... has never found a true brown rose, so if anyone finds one let me know... I will want to get one for her.
