Teach Soap

Bramble Berry says that Dragons Blood and Fresh Bamboo are a good mix, and because I, and everyone I know, LOVES Dragons Blood, I thought I'd try it out! They say to use 1 part of each, so for my recipe, that would be .5 oz each. I read somewhere that you can dip q-tips in FO and put them in a ziplock bag for a day or so to see how you like the mix. I tried that, and it seems to be overwhelmingly Dragons Blood, with just a small hint of Fresh Bamboo, so I know I definitely want to use less DB. Has anyone ever tried this mix? What's everyone's favorite blends? I've just been sticking with FO straight out of the bottle, not making blends, but I want to start experimenting!

I have used dragon's blood, but still not in love with it. I have started to cut back on the amount I use PPO. It is a bit overwhelming.. why not try the q-tips, 2 bamboo and 1 dragons blood. I cannot imagine dragons blood taking over in any mix you would try, kind of like patch... some soapers use just a few drops.

I hadn't read that. How interesting. I find Dragons blood is so overpowering, and though I like Fresh Bamboo I wouldn't have thought to blend it with DB! People seem to love or loathe DB, I like it but at low levels. IF I were to experiment, I would try 4:1, with the DB at 1

I'm not sure if this would be the same results, but I use toothpicks because I don't want to waste an FO or EO trying to come up with a blend. Of course the toothpick takes less of the oil when you dip it into the bottle. I put them into a ziploc bag then take a whiff after first putting them in the bag, then after 15 minutes, then in another half an hour, then an hour then the next day. This has worked for me. With really strong Fragrances I always use one toothpick and then 5 toothpicks per weak one. Try this with toothpicks since the DB is so strong just to see how well that goes.
