Teach Soap

I'm a total newbie to selling at farmer's markets & craft shows. Is there any rule of thumb about how much product to bring? I've been making 2# batches and I have lots of different scents, as well as unscented. I know I should bring some each of florals, fruits, etc. but how much???

I would bring as much as you can. You can always store extras under the cloth covered table. How many people are they expecting to attend? What kind of advertising have they done? How many other vendors will be there? Any other soapmakers?

It's a smallish weekly farmer's market with mostly produce, flowers & baked goods. If they approve me, I'll be the only soapmaker. The weekly fee is only $5 per vendor and the market provides all the tents, and advertises in several local newspapers each week, as well as on their website. There is a fair amount of tourist traffic during the summer. All in all a very good place to start!

Linda, I hope you get approval as well. Sounds like a great place to be. And just to keep a balance in what they offer they should have a soap maker there!
