I has it. Soapers block. Like writers block, but soap. I want to make a batch, I have a gazillion fragrances, and yet I sit here. Not moving. Not soaping. I ... is ... blocked!

If you have a line of unscented soaps you can always make them till the mood hits you for fragrance. The unscented ones will last forever.

Ask family or friend to choose the next one you make... at least the fragrance and then let it be your inspiration.
Sometimes I just go on the scent review board and read the comments... and start thinking "I have that - I should use it"

I had this! I decided to plan out a design then grabbed an FO that I thought would be cool with my design! Unfortunately it was my spoon swirl with the troublesome coconut FO. *grumble*

I wanted to make a lilac soap the other day and had a beautiful purple color that I added to my oils. It was GORGEOUS! Then I added my lye water and next thing I know everything is green! So I'm standing there looking at my pot thinking "Will it change back to purple after it gels or will it stay green?" "Should I add the lilac FO or not?" "What FOs do I have that will work with green?" I finally decided to use a Rainforest FO. Glad I did because the soap is a really strange color blue-ish green... But, at least it smells good!

I agree with AutumnWoods - make some unscented soaps & play with different swirls, additives, etc. 8)

Ended up having an idea come to me last night, and then it turned out nothing like I wanted lol. At least it's broken the block though!

I like to browse Etsy or my favorite soaping blogs when I need some inspiration. :)

I have a whole folder full of images for inspiration. But I just don't feel inspired atm. It's not a case of 'I don't know what to make'... it's a full on block atm.

My whole system's crashed atm though. I finally sold off my business which has been a huge relief, and as soon as I did that I got super sick. I've worked 12 - 18 hours a day, 7 days a week for the past 18 months. The second I sat down, I ended up really sick lol. I've been in bed all week.

I think the 'block' is my body's way of forcing me to rest. I sort of looked at soaping all week. Like "woo hoo, no more work, I'm soaping it up all week". My body had other ideas. So being blocked has resulted in me just lying on the couch - sick and slightly freaking out that I may never enjoy soaping again. Even my MP creations have been lackluster and forced lately. :(

I suggest sitting down with the James Patterson book series "Women's Murder Club", the first one is called "1st to Die". They can be a little graphic sometimes, but I can't put them down! Many times I've stayed up all night reading. Very good books!

If you prefer sci-fi I suggest the "Dresden Files" books by Jim Butcher. The first of these is "Storm Front". They are about a modern day wizard! I found the first book a little hard to get into, but once into it the series is soooo good!

I also suggest anything by B. V. Larson. Especially the "Hyborean Dragons" series. These are written in "old" style, shorter than most novels and right to the point, not a lot of in-depth detail that really isn't needed. This author is wonderful but I keep my dictionary and thesaurus nearby when reading as he loves to use old language that even the most well spoken folks probably wouldn't know. Great for learning new words though!

When I need a good break from life and stress I love to bury myself in books! Good for the brain and body!

ROFL... reading. Says the one without kids  Oh man I remember when I used to be able to read. I'm lucky if I can read a single page in a trash mag now days.

I'm a movie girl anyway. Although I sat down today and caught up on my recorded TV. Today was all but the finale of So You Think You Can Dance Season 6. I'd already seen it when it was on, so knew most of it anyway, but was still a good watch. I think I have seasons 7 and 8 ready to go next haha.

And yeah, I'm just taking it easy at the moment. Yesterday I got up at 9am, dropped the kids off with daddy for his weekend, came home, tidied up so I could lay down on the couch and instead ended up back in bed at 1pm. Slept right through until 6pm when I had to force myself out of bed as my little man was coming home for the night. Today I just spent it on the couch.

Looking forward to actually having a life once again - one where I'm not making a batch of soap at 10pm at night because that's the first "me" time I got all day lol.
