You might compromise the base's preservative. I wouldn't do it.

I agree with Irena. If it's a lotion base, then you really only add scent and color, otherwise you may mess up the preservative system. Also, goats milk added to an already finished base can go sour. I know that from experience :oops:

if I want to make a soothing skin cream I would probably use extracts of calendula, chamomile, and aloe vera, obtained from a reputable source.

Goats milk is common in soothing lotions (bought varieties) and in most lotions prescribed by dermatologists for eczema, dry skin and psoriasis... among a large variety of other skin issues. Goats milk is pretty much only second to urea in this type of cream.

Goat's milk lotion is nice, but you have to calculate for it right at the start; not add it after. Milk has natural proteins and sugars which are harder to preserve.

i bought some last summer (goats milk lotion) from a guy at the fair and thought it would be easy to make myself.. guess not can you buy goats milk lotion base?

Perhaps this is what is used in the lotion formula? I use coconut powder in my lotions and conditioners!
