Teach Soap

I never tried out to make soap with burned cooking oils and i thought to give it a shot. I used burned sunflower oil and burned olive oil. Afte i poured the lye in oil and start blending it it was ok for 20 seconds. But very suddently the mixture became so hard and thick that i was unable to blend it anymore. The stick blender has stucked in it. I also made 5 whole minutes to pour it in my mold. It was so thick that all the mixture had stuck inside the pan
Is it become seized? I've heared many times about seized mixtures but never had expirienced it.

Anyway would be saponofied corectly and will be safe to use it? Or it was completly destroyd?

Sounds like it seized. If you didn't add any fragrance, since the structure of the burned oils has changed due to excessive heat, I would just trash it. Oxidized oil are prone to DOS.

hi there. are you planning to make burn cooking oil to make soap and sell?

well, i actually use my recycle cooking oil, make to soap and use it as some dish cleaning. definitely no no for selling.
well it does smells a little rancid oil smell, and maybe some fried potatoes smell when mixing the oil with lye. but i left it to cure for almost 2 months. smells does eventually fade away.
try put some chinese tea leaves or green tea leaves (ground) to mix together with the soap. helps to take away the smells a little..haha...

anyway, it is just my little recycle work in the house.
