I have purchased two of the round ball ball molds and have broken both of them trying to get the soaps out. This is the mold that is two pieces and makes the sphere shaped balls with the little holes ontop to pour the soap in. I am still very excited for this mold to work but after purchasing two of them and both of them breaking, I'm getting a little peeved. Any suggestions on how to unmold these without breaking the mold? I have let the soap in the mold cool overnight so I know it is ready to come out.

Hmm..I have the small sphere ball mold and I've never had that happen. I just let them set up, pull the mold apart, twist on the one mold like you do an ice cube tray and then the soap comes right out.

How is it breaking? You could try putting the mold in the freezer for a little bit after the soap is hard. Then the soap should just pop right out.

I have twisted it like a icecube tray and they are not coming out. The edge of the mold breaks. Maybe I'm twisting to hard?

Yeah, I think you're twisting too hard. When you have them sit out overnight, take the one side off and turn the filled mold upside down. You'll probably want to prop the edges of the mold on something to keep the soap from getting squished. Sometimes the soap will just fall out.

Besides freezing the mold after the soaps hard, you could coat the inside of the mold with a little vegetable oil before pouring the soap in.

Good luck :)

I'd go with mineral oil or petroleum gelly as neither of these tend to go brownish or smell bad if you plan to store them for a while.

Restaurant supply stores also carry stainless steel spheres that are two piece.

Pretty sure you can use them for both, I've seen someone use them with CP on youtube! I would just use a non-saponifiable to coat the inside.

How do you get the soap into these little holes in the round molds? I have this mold from BB. I only have a very tiny cosmetic funnel that doesn't hold more than a tiny amount of soap.

Has anyone used a zip lock bag with the corner cut off?

Does this work?

Thank you

Here is a tip from the BB site; Tip: We found that securing the mold with 2 or 3 rubber bands was really helpful. Without them, we found that the soap leaked a little between our spheres. Also, the injector tool (from PJ's Tool Kit) fits perfectly into the round holes for a cleaner pour.

You can also start with the mold apart, pour the bottom halves, assemble and then top them off. Like here;

I would use a piping bag with a small tip. Would hold a lot of batter and would be small enough to fit in the holes.
