I wanted to do a 4lb batch in my new wooden mold, but I only have a bunch of 1oz samples of new FOs and wanted to try something new. So I decided mixing sun ripened raspberry with lemon drop would make a great raspberry lemonade scent... and YUM it did! One of the FOs disscoloured a little yellow which was fine for the yellow part of the soap, but made achieving a nice rich raspberry colour impossible. So it is currently yellow and red-ish orange. Hoping that it will lose some of the yellow tone when it cures like my muskoka boathouse did. I forgot to snap a shot of it before I covered it though, so will have to wait until tomorrow or the day after for pics. Only have about 1 hour time on the radiator for this batch because I was asked in to work tonight, and Mom isn't confident she'd be able to help if it started to overheat.

Was kind of fun playing with scents! Hope it turns out super nice!

I just checked it now, and there is some liquid on the surface. Not sure if its condensation or FO. It doesn't zap though, so I'm not too worried about it. It was covered with a piece of freezer paper and a towel, the radiator was off when I put it in there so it didn't get to gel, but the bottom of the mold is still nice and warm 6 hours later! Wood is so good at insulating! I'll check it in the morning and leave an update =D

If there is any liquid on the surface and the mold is still warm after 6 hours it most likely gelled.

Do fruit FOs like to overheat? Thinking it may have if the room hadn't been chilly!

I checked it this morning, the oil is still on the surface but seems to be re-absorbing somewhat, and there is no new oil. I'll leave it for the day and maybe unmold it this evening, it seems pretty solid. What is it that causes the FO to migrate out of the soap like that? Slight overheat? The bottom of the mold was still warm when I went to bed around midnight, it was poured between 3 and 3:30 in the afternoon.

It could be glycerin coming out to the surface from slight overheating. If that's the case, it should absorb back in in a couple of days.
